Veteran Designation on License/ID
As a Montana veteran, you are eligible to have a “Veteran Designation” added to your driver license or ID card. This designation recognizes your service and may serve as proof for your eligibility to receive benefits or discounts offered by businesses and organizations.
Active Military Driver License
As an active-duty service member, you can apply for a license expiration exemption as well as apply to add a motorcycle endorsement without having to complete the road test.
Military CDL Even Exchange
This waiver allows a qualified military service member to apply for a CDL without skills testing. Qualification is determined by the commanding officer, who typically certifies the qualification before the service member is discharged.
Military/Veteran License Plates
We offer several license plates exclusive to military personnel to acknowledge their service status. Each plate is available only to those individuals having served as an active-duty or reserve member (or their surviving, unmarried spouse) for the specific branch of the plate they are requesting.
