As the buyer, you have 40 days from the sale date to transfer the ownership of the vehicle to you.

Paperwork

You’ll need to provide the vehicle’s title. If you’re purchasing a used vehicle from the owner, you’ll need to have the previous owner sign over the current title to you. If you are purchasing from a dealership, they will send the paperwork to your County Treasurer’s office. This process can take several weeks. Please call your local County Treasurer's office to confirm that they have all the appropriate paperwork prior to scheduling an appointment or visiting.
