As the buyer, you have 40 days from the sale date to transfer the ownership of the vehicle to you.

Paperwork

You’ll need to provide the vehicle’s title. If you’re purchasing a used vehicle from the owner, you’ll need to have the previous owner sign over the current title to you. If you are purchasing from a dealership, they will send the paperwork to your County Treasurer’s office. The treasurers office will send you a letter when they've received the paperwork.
